For decades, ILM Singapore has been the solid rock of the global VFX industry. Other studios were coming and going, but this branch stayed relatively unaffected by the turmoil. Everyone heard the whispers about the closure, but then everyone's heard them for years already, right? So we all brushed it off as hearsay. Then this year, the inevitable happened, and it was announced that we were shutting down. Some people cried, some panicked, some despaired, and some... some saw an opportunity where others saw a grim future.
